Denver Broncos vs. Las Vegas Raiders Rivalry
Though things have somewhat cooled in the Raiders vs. Broncos rivalry, it was one of the better rivalries throughout the 1980s and 1990s. Both teams were near the top of the league, both trying to top the other en route to the Super Bowl.
Recent Raiders vs. Broncos history might not have the electric results of years past, but there have still been plenty of great battles. Broncos vs. Raiders score history has had a few great matchups, so let’s get into the Raiders vs. Broncos history over the last 10 years.
Denver Broncos vs. Las Vegas Raiders Results
Because these two are division rivals, there are more than 10 matchups to talk about over the last decade. Because of that, we have narrowed down our look into Broncos vs. Raiders history to include some of the best matchups between the two.
Raiders 17, Broncos 16 (9/10/2023)
The season has not ended and the Broncos still have a chance to swing things, but the Raiders continued to stifle and frustrated the team from the Mile High City. Russell Wilson needed to provide proof that he wasn’t washed up and this one didn’t exactly get things off on the right foot.
It was ugly across the board. Jimmy Garoppolo threw a pair of touchdown passes, including the winner to Jakobi Meyers with just under seven minutes left in the game. Russ found Courtland Sutton for the only touchdown of the game for the Broncos.
With this loss, the Raiders are now up to seven straight against the Broncos. Even worse than that, it marks 10 losses in 12 games for the Broncos, drastically swinging Broncos vs. Raiders results history like we haven’t seen in a while. Only the Broncos dominance in the 1990s – when they won 11 of 12 – can come close to this lop-sided series of games.

Raiders 22, Broncos 16 (11/20/2022)
By this point in the rivalry, it became hard to remember a time when the Broncos won regularly. Despite the struggles from the Raiders, you could just about consider it a shoo-in that they would beat the Broncos and their revolving door of starting quarterbacks.
A late touchdown pass from Derek Carr to Davante Adams sent the Raiders into the locker room down just three. From there, they would take over the game and limit the Broncos to just two Brandon McManus field goals for the rest of the game.
Carr connected with Adams a second time early in the fourth quarter. It would wind up being enough to grab the win despite a solid effort from new QB Russell Wilson (24-for-31 for 247 yards). It became a microcosm of the 2022 season for the Broncos: a struggling offense that just couldn’t do enough to steal a win in the end.

Raiders 17, Broncos 13 (12/26/2021)
By the 2021 season, mediocrity had become commonplace for both franchises. Both teams were separated by one win going into this one, with a faint shot at a playoff spot on the line. Though the Broncos gained the upper hand in many of their earlier battles, things had swung distinctly into the corner of the Raiders.
Going into this game, the Raiders had won the last three meetings and five of the last six. This one was a massive struggle for the Broncos and could have gone much worse. Vegas outgained them 342-158, yet the Broncos still had a chance to win late in the fourth quarter.
In the end, a Peyton Barber touchdown run did the Broncos in, giving the Raiders a lead they would not relinquish. Drew Lock had a bad day, getting sacked twice while throwing for just 153 yards. There have been truly epic battles between these two legendary franchises in the past but this probably won’t land on many “best of” lists.

Raiders 37, Broncos 12 (11/15/2020)
The COVID-19 years was a weird one not only in the NFL, but the entire sports world. It also brought about a weird feeling as the Raiders, now in Las Vegas, were on the winning side of the standings while the Broncos (3-6) were under .500.
Unlike many of the other games on this list, this one went way in the favor of the Raiders. It was a tight battle at half with the Raiders leading 10-6. From there, it was all raiders. Josh Jacobs and Devontae Booker combined for three touchdown runs, burying the Broncos 37-12 in the end.
This comes at a time during the failed Drew Lock experiment. The former first-round quarterback had been given the keys and hadn’t delivered as expected. Getting smacked by the Raiders just underscores that things weren’t exactly going well for the Broncos.
Broncos 16, Raiders 15 (12/29/2019)
With both teams limping across the finish line during the 2019 season, playoffs out of sight, this could have been an inconsequential game. And while it didn’t impact the standings in a meaningful way, it provided yet another tight battle between two long-time rivals.
A Drew Lock touchdown pass at the end of the first quarter helped propel the Broncos to a 13-3 lead going into the half. The Raiders struggled until late in the fourth quarter, when they mounted a fantastic comeback. Daniel Carlson hit a field goal to make it 16-9 with just over three minutes to go. Derek Carr found Hunter Renfrow for a touchdown with :07 left to cut the lead to one.
The Raiders went for the kill, attempting a two-point conversion rather than opting to tie it. The Broncos held, stopping the attempt and taking the 16-15 win. It didn’t mean a lot but this is one of those games that had to feel good as a Broncos fan.
Broncos 20, Raiders 19 (9/16/2018)
Early into the 2018 season, the Broncos came into this one 2-0 and looking to really gain momentum. Oakland, meanwhile, had been struggling while looking for its first win. This one wound up being a nail-biter and a sneaky good game in Raiders vs. Broncos history.
It was all Oakland in the first half. A pair of Mike Nugent field goals and a one-yard touchdown run from Marshawn Lynch gave the silver and black a 12-0 lead going into the half. The Broncos came out with fight in the second half despite a touchdown pass from Derek Carr.
Case Keenum’s one-yard run set the table for the end of the game. Trailing by two, the Broncos drove late and set the stage for Brandon McManus. The veteran kicker – one of the best in franchise history – nailed a 36-yarder with :06 left to give the Broncos the hard-earned 20-19 win.
Broncos 24, Raiders 6 (1/1/2017)
For the first time in a while, the Raiders (12-3) came in with a better record than the Broncos (8-7). With the chance to play spoiler in front of their home crowd, the Broncos took full advantage of the situation to deliver a vicious blow to their hated rivals.
The Broncos had an up-and-down season under Trevor Siemian, but he delivered in this one. With 206 yards and a pair of touchdowns, Siemian outperformed the duo of Connor Cook and Matt McGloin. More importantly, the defense frustrated the Raiders all day, holding them to just 221 yards and six points.
Though the Raiders would make the playoffs while the Broncos did not, it had to feel good to send the Raiders into the playoffs on a loss. This is also a turning point for the Broncos, fresh off of a Super Bowl Championship and moving in an entirely new direction.
Broncos 16, Raiders 10 (10/11/2015)
The final season of the Peyton Manning era didn’t go according to plan for the all-timer. Injuries had built up and he looked like a degraded version of what we saw over the last decade. Even still, the Broncos were on a mission that season.
The defense became the star of the show and that was on full display here. The offense managed just three points in the first half, but the defense held strong after a Derek Carr touchdown pass before halftime. Powered by a 74-yard Chris Harris pick six, the Broncos pulled out a tough win.
There were a few examples of the defense carrying the load during what would be the last Super Bowl championship season to date. Manning struggled (two interceptions) but the Broncos still walked away with the win.
Broncos 47, Raiders 14 (12/28/2014)
This season was the beginning of injury woes for Manning in Denver. That said, even with backup Brock Osweiler at the helm, the Broncos showed that they were still dangerous. There is no better example of this than the late December beatdown that the Broncos gave the Raiders at home.
Denver started solid, leading 20-7 at the half. From there, it was like seeing a team put the pedal to the metal in real-time. A rushing touchdown, a passing touchdown, and a fumble return touchdown took the score from 27-14 to 47-14 in no time.
This is an important period in Broncos history. The push for another Super Bowl championship was very real and the crushing loss to the Seattle Seahawks the year before gave the Broncos a fuel that only that kind of loss can provide.
Broncos 37, Raiders 21 (9/23/2013)
The first two years of the Manning era in Denver were electric. They also produced plenty of wins for the Broncos in Raiders vs. Broncos history. In this one, both teams were clearly in different places as Manning led the Broncos while Terrelle Pryor had the keys in Oakland (prior to the move to Vegas).
Denver came out and dominated early, heading into half with a 27-7 win thanks to three touchdown passes from Manning. With everything in hand, the Broncos took their foot off the gas pedal. A touchdown run and pass from Darren McFadden made the score look a lot closer than it was.
This game alone emphasizes the difference between the two teams at this stage in each franchise’s history. The Broncos were geared up to make a run to the Super Bowl while the Raiders were looking to see who would help lead them going forward.
The Best Game in Broncos vs. Raiders History
There has not been a lot on the line for both teams in recent history. The Raiders have largely struggled over the last two decades while the Broncos have had bursts of success. We have to go all the way back to 1977 to find the greatest game in the history of this rivalry.
The Broncos made the playoffs for the first time in franchise history. They were now hosting Oakland, the defending Super Bowl champions. The regular season was a split but Broncos faithful were definitely feeling the pressure in what was undoubtedly the biggest game in franchise history to that point.
Oakland got on the board first but a 74-yard touchdown pass from Craig Morton to Haven Moses swung the momentum. Moses would have a monster game, catching five passes for 168 yards and a pair of touchdowns. The 20-17 win would send the Broncos to their first Super Bowl. More importantly, it showed that the Broncos would not merely bow to the vaunted Raiders going forward.
